Evaluation

Evaluation of research

I started by placing the words 'comedy theme tunes' in to Google and it game up with a lot of different Youtube videos, but I could not see them because of the school filter, so I searched 'comedy instruments' and it came up with a website where it explained that comedies usually use random noises, e.g. duck noises, over a tune.

The website I found was really helpful because it gave me an idea of what i could use to make my music.

I think we could of done it better if we could use Youtube we could of done better, because we could of heard a theme tune.

If i had to do it again to make it better I would try to use a computer without filters so that i could watch a video and then get a better idea of what I could do.

Evaluation of practical

Our task was to create a 30 second piece of music to play at the beginning of a genre of our choice. Mrs Blackmore and another student showed a demonstration of how to use Garageband, it helped me to understand how to use it. I found using it quite easy because the demonstration explained the basics which was all I needed to know. I worked with a partner because we didn't have enough computers. We tried many different things but nothing turned out very good. Our best one was some chopsticks music with a laughter at the end. We were very unsuccessful because we could not find anything good. We found out that it is hard to do a comedy. If I was to do it again I would choose a different genre because comedy is hard.

My role in the team

Lee played the main tune, while I was playing the background because I'm not very good at music so I did not want to do the main tune.

Skills i have learned

I now understand how to use GarageBand, which I never new how to use it before. I also learned about codes and symbolism but I still do not fully understand it.
